Helping Others

Look for opportunities to help someone every day. It can be anybody, anytime, with anything.

It’s hard to help someone who is not willing to help themselves. This does not mean that you give up on them though. You need to be there, so that when they’re ready to change, or need somebody, they know they can go to you.

Be Genuine

You have to be genuine about wanting to help someone. People can see through the BS garbage you say when you’re just really judging them. Your desire needs to truly be that of wanting to help them. It hurts me to see people waste their potential. I can see people’s potential and I want to shake it out of them, and show them what they truly are made of. I love it when people shake me up, and show me what I truly posess. I know my potential is far greater than I could ever imagine it to be.

This is also why it is important to surround yourself with people who you can look up to. Those that have reached levels of success, those who are positive influences, those that are willing to help people, genuine people. The kind of people who do not settle, and do not quit. If you surround yourself with quitter, what motivation would that be? I mean, maybe you would see what not to do, but you would just be moving sideways onto a different path. What if you surrounded yourself with people who were passionately driven? Then you would see what you could do, what you could accomplish. You would not be moving sideways, you would be moving up. You focus goes from “that’s not what I want to be” to “This is what I could accomplish.” Which sounds better?

I believe a mix of the two, but more beneficial one being  “This is what I could accomplish.” That is going to show you your potential, and you will make any adjustments needed to work towards that potential.

What needs to change?

The #1 thing that needs to change is your mindset. You have to have a positive mindset. Whether you are in need of help, or have a desire to help someone. You have to have a positive mindset, knowing that even when things get tough, and they will, that you can get through it.

Success starts with your mindset. You first get your mind right to stay focused on your goals, to realize your potential, and make a difference.

Go to the gym in the morning to start your day, listen to material that inspires you. I listen to books and training programs while I exercise. This way I am working myself physically and mentally. I listen for the million dollar material, the stuff that give’s me that “AH HA!” moment. There are always things I listen to or read that also make me think, like “how can I accomplish that,” “what is the author really trying to say?”, “what is the author saying, that is not actually being said?”

Invest in yourself

Invest in books, in training material, gym membership (or gym equipment, running shoes, whatever- just exercise somehow), programs, mastermind groups, even healthy food. The greatest investment you can make is the investment in yourself. The more you know, the more you grow. You can then take that knowledge and help others, by passing the knowledge along to them.
